Statement: As a social justice committee in a Unitarian Universalist congregation, we know the importance of emphasizing the inherent dignity of every human being. Here in Indiana, our legislators will consider bias crimes legislation in their next session. We feel it is important to work to lessen such crime in our state. Though we don’t all agree on the exact method, we are united in our belief that our state can be made better when we unite around causes like equality for all persons. We believe, most importantly, that all persons have the right to love and create family as they see fit. It is our privilege to lead this action in Danville, Indiana.
