The Executive Directors of Soulforce and Atticus Circle will serve as Co-Coordinators of Seven Straight Nights.
Jeff Lutes, Soulforce Executive Director, originated the idea for this action. Jeff is a licensed professional counselor specializing in couples and family therapy. He is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC), and the Council on Contemporary Families (CCF). He has written numerous newspaper columns on issues facing same-gender couples and families, and presents relationship workshops based on the current social-science research. He has served on the Soulforce Board of Directors and volunteered since the first action in 1999. He lives with his partner, Gary Stein, and their three children in Austin, Texas.
Jodie Eldridge, Atticus Circle Executive Director, has a track record of helping nonprofit organizations and political candidates achieve their goals through fundraising, events and direct-mail. She managed grassroots fundraising for Ann Richards campaign for governor in 1990 and 1994 and managed events for the Clinton/Gore 96 campaign in California. She has also worked with direct mail marketing firms for cause-oriented nonprofits. She has provided training on grassroots fundraising and direct mail for the Democratic National Committee, Meals on Wheels and More, and other clients. She is deeply involved in the Austin community that she's called home for 16 years. Jodie was a founding Board member of the Ophelia Project, now known as "GENaustin," a girls' empowered network.
